Soap, olive-oil, honey

On this tour you will visit three different family businesses producing products that since the prehistoric times have played a very important role in the economy of Crete and the locals' lives.

You will find out how olive oil, honey and soap products are made, learn about the old and modern methods used, where olive trees are grown how and when they are harvested. You will visit a small museum and look at a prehistoric olive tree, between 3.000 to 5.000 years old.

You will have the chance to meet the owners, look at their premises, taste different traditional products and learn about the different varieties they cultivate and how to distinguish high from low quality products as well as tips about best use and storage.

This tour will become more interactive at the apiary where during your beehive tour you will open the hives and look at the worker bees, drones and honey while wearing protective equipment.
